Sanur is located on the east side of Denpasar Bali and can be reached within 20 minutes ride from Ngurah Rai International Airport. Many shuttle buses depart and drop off in Sanur Bali, including Kura-Kura Bus and Perama Shuttle Bus; And if you want to depart for Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan, boats departing from Sanur Beach could be the easiest option. This coastal area has a white sandy beach, calm water, and numerous hotels and restaurants along the coastline.
Sanur Village Festival
Sanur has one of the biggest cultural celebrations and festivals in Bali, which is a Sanur Village Festival. Held annually in the coastal village of Sanur Bali around August, this event promotes local arts, food, culture, and environment, to support and boost Sanur in particular. It is free to enter the event, and you can enjoy various agendas such as fashion shows, culinary and food bazaar, creative expo, sports competitions, fun games, environment activities, cultural talk shows, and so on.
Bali Kite Festival
As part of the Sanur Village Festival, International Sanur Kite Festival is also something worth visiting around August as it displays various contemporary creations of giant kites in the sky of Mertasari Beach, Sanur Bali. Other than this event, there is also an annual Bali Kite Festival showing more on traditional Balinese kites accompanied by kite competition by locals, which can be a unique experience to watch; Though it hosts in several locations around the island, its opening and closing events take place in Padanggalak Beach, Sanur, between July to August.

Beach and watersports
With a calm water and white sandy beach protected by the offshore reefs, Sanur Bali is perfect for some relaxing time with your loved ones, including small kids and family. This safe lagoon is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and doing some more extreme water sports, such as scuba diving, sea walker, kitesurfing, windsurfing, or wakeboarding. Various dive centers and water sports companies are available along the main street of Sanur Bali.
Biking and exploring the neighborhood
Sanur has fewer tourists than the other areas on the south of Bali, so it would be nice just to walk or ride the bike down the road or paved path along the beach to explore the surrounding area, such as Mertasari beach, Le Mayeur Museum, Blanjong Temple, Shindu Beach, and so on. If you are tired, stop by the “warung” or cafés to sip a fresh coconut, or get refreshed by a cup of gelato at Massimo café for a sweet treat.

Sanur Bali is actually a part of the Denpasar Bali area and has more local things to see and do than any other touristy regions. If you are looking for local food, Sanur Bali has Sindhu Night Market offering various local food flavors. Opens daily at 4 PM, this market needs no entrance fee. During the day, this place turns into a traditional fresh market selling fresh vegetables, dried fish, spices, various household goods, and many tempting Balinese foods.
